Description:
|
Magna-Calm
is
a natural calming beverage, in the form of a powder to be mixed with hot water,
which forms
an instant lemon flavored magnesium drink.
No sweeteners are used or required.
Why is Magnesium so
important to Human Health?
Magnesium is the most
important major mineral, and unfortunately, the one that is most often
depleted. magnesium is an essential nutrient, the activating mineral
for at least 350 different enzymes in the body - more than any other
mineral; so the body is negatively affected - literally in hundreds of ways
- by a lack of magnesium.
What conditions may be
affected by a Magnesium Deficiency?
- Angina - caused by spasms in the
coronary arteries. When you hear spasm, think of magnesium.
- Asthma
- caused by spasm in
the bronchial passages.
- Back Pain - magnesium relieves muscle
tensions, and spasms and cramps are also frequently a part of back
problems.
- Constipation -
magnesium is very
helpful in providing relief from constipation. In the case of this
water soluble form, from 200-800 mgs is usually very effective.
- Depression and Adrenal
function - Cortisol
is one of the main hormones produced by the adrenal glands, and plays a
large role in regulating blood sugar levels. When stress causes the
adrenals to over-produce cortisol, the body's ability to retain magnesium
is reduced, and large quantities are lost through the urine.
Individuals with exhausted adrenals may benefit from magnesium. Magnesium
is also used a s a substrate by the adrenals to produce hormones, and a
deficiency may contribute to depression and mood disorders.
- Diabetes - magnesium deficiency is
extremely common among diabetics, and since magnesium has been found to
improve insulin's response to dietary sugars, it is a very important
nutrient for them.
- Fatigue - magnesium aids the storage of
energy in the cell, and in the absence of magnesium, potassium is lost,
leading to weakness and fatigue.
- Fibromyalgia-
this condition is
characterized by fatigue, muscle pain, sleep disturbances and headaches,
among other things. magnesium deficiencies are common in people with
this problem.
- Heart
Attacks - magnesium
deficiency may be a factor in heart attacks, since the heart is a muscle
and the heartbeat is regulated by calcium and magnesium: calcium
contracting, and magnesium relaxing. With correct levels of both,
the heartbeat is consistent: where a magnesium is lacking,
arrhythmias often result.
- High Blood Pressure -
several studies
suggest that a magnesium deficiency may cause high blood pressure.
- Insomnia - tense, edgy feelings caused by
magnesium deficiency may cause the inability to sleep. Deficiency
may also wake a person by causing muscle spasms and cramps. Taking one
scoop of Magna-Calm
just before bedtime will often support restful and relaxed sleep.
If you have tried magnesium supplements before for insomnia without
success, it is important to realize that what you absorb is more crucial
than what you swallow: this form is highly absorbable.
- Kidney Stones -
common types of kidney
stones made from calcium may be formed when magnesium levels are low.
Supplementing with magnesium and B6 will help prevent formation of new
stones in the body.
- Migraine and Cluster
headaches - magnesium supplementation may control excess calcium levels which are a
source of some migraine and cluster headaches.
- Muscle Function and
Disorders -
muscles need both calcium and magnesium: muscle spasms, and cramps, jerks
and tics, eye tics and even hiccups can be caused by an imbalance between
the two, leading to a magnesium deficiency.
- Nervousness & Nervous
System Disorders - magnesium is essential for the proper functioning of the nervous system.
Without sufficient magnesium, nerve cells exhibit hyperexcitability, which
can affect the nervous system as a whole and cause both neuromuscular and
psychiatric symptoms.
- Osteoporosis -
this condition is
marked by severely reduced bone density. Increased consumption of
calcium supplements and dairy foods in the US has not reduced the
incidence of osteoporosis. Magnesium's role in preserving calcium
and the frequency with which deficiencies of magnesium are found, may
provide a partial explanation for this.
The Secret of
Magna-Calm's effectiveness is twofold:
1) The water soluble form
of Magna-Calm's preparation makes the mineral more absorbable from the intestinal
tract even in cases of poor digestion and
2) The chelating agent used is Citric Acid to yield Magnesium Citrate, a
form shown in clinical research to be significantly more absorbable in
humans than other forms.
